Where is the SnowDome?
The SnowDome is just 5 minutes from Junction 10 of the M42 or M6 toll road. Simply follow all signs to Tamworth and pick up the brown ‘Tourist Information’ signs to the SnowDome. See the How To Find Us page for full details.

What are your opening hours?
The SnowDome is open from 9am -11pm, 7 days a week, 364 days a year.

Is there car parking?
There is a huge car park.

Is it real snow?
Yes, therefore it is cold so you need to wrap up warm!

How cold is it?
The main slope temperature ranges from 0 to +4 degrees centigrade. The snowplay and ice skating areas are typically around zero to minus 3 degrees Celsius.

What should I wear?
Warm clothing & gloves are essential as the snow areas are cold. See the What To Wear section for full details.

Can I purchase gloves, hats and other equipment at the SnowDome?
We have an Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports shop on site where you can purchase ski wear.

Do I need any specialist equipment?
No, all equipment is provided free of charge (skis, boards, boots, poles, skates). All you need to bring on the day is warm clothing and gloves.

How much does it cost to hire equipment?
Skis, boots and boards are provided free of charge.

Can I use my own equipment?
Yes, you are more than welcome to use your own equipment.

Do I qualify for a discount if I have my own equipment?
No, unfortunately not. The equipment we provide is free of charge so we do not offer any discount.

Can I hire clothing?
Skis, boots and snowboards are provided free of charge, but you will need to bring along your own clothing. We have an Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports shop on site which stocks ski & snowboard wear.

Are there lockers and changing facilities?
Yes, there are lockers and changing rooms available. Our lockers take a non-refundable 20p coin.

I’m not taking part but where can I come and watch my family/friends?
Aspens Bar & Restaurant offers fantastic views of the main slope. You can even venture out on to the balcony to truly interact with the action on the slope! Alternatively you can head to the Starbucks Coffee lounge or Rocky Mountain Bar to view the snowplay and ice skating areas.

Is there a charge for spectators?
No, it is free of charge.

Can I get something to eat and drink?
Yes, there is a selection of bars, restaurants and viewing areas – choose from either Aspens Bar & Restaurant overlooking the main slope, the Starbucks Coffee lounge , The Rocky Mountain Bar overlooking the snowplay & ice skating area.

Are children allowed in the bar?
Yes, our bars are family friendly.

How long and steep is the slope?
The main slope is 170 metres long by 30 metres wide and is approximately equivalent to a blue run in a resort. There are also two Snow Academy areas – one is 30 metres long, the other is 25 metres long.

What is the recreational standard?
The ability to use all lifts, perform controlled linked turns, control speed and direction, and stop confidently. See the What Level Am I section for more details.

Do I need to be assessed before I can use the slope if I can already ski?
No, as long as you can perform controlled linked turns, control speed and direction, use all lifts and stop confidently you are fine to use the slope as a recreational user.

Do I need a lesson if I’ve only skied / snowboarded on a dry slope before?
If you are an experienced / confident dry slope skier / snowboarder then you should be ok to use our slope. Remember that skiing and snowboarding on real snow is a lot faster than on a dry slope. If you are taking lessons on a dry slope, we usually recommend going back a level to be on the safe side (for example, if you’re at level 2 on the dry slope, we’d recommend going back to level 1 on real snow). These are only guidelines – you can discuss in detail your ability and ask for more advice from one of our experienced booking team members on 08448 000011.

Can I teach my friends / family to ski?
Unfortunately not. Due to health and safety requirements we cannot allow members of the public to teach. They would need to take lessons with one of our qualified instructors, see the Learning To Ski section or the Learning To Snowboard section for details on lessons at the SnowDome.

How many levels of lessons are there?
There are four levels of ski lessons (minimum 4 hours of tuition) and four levels of snowboard lessons (minimum 5 hours of tuition) before you are at the recreational standard.

How many people in a group lesson?
There is a maximum of 10 people per instructor in a group ski lesson, a maximum of 4 people per instructor in a level 1 and level 2 group snowboard lesson , and a maximum of 6 people per instructor for group snowboarding lessons levels 3+.

Can I book private lessons?
Yes, private ski lessons and private snowboard lessons are available for the more personal touch for beginners and experts. These are available for 1 person up to a maximum 4 people per instructor.

Do I have to pre-book?
To avoid disappointment it is recommended that all activities are pre-booked by phoning the SnowDome on 08448 000011 or visiting reception. Telephone bookings are subject to a £1.75 booking fee per transaction.

Is there access for disabled visitors?
Disabled visitors are most welcome. We have facilities for disabled guests throughout the SnowDome venue.

Do you have a crèche?
No, there are no child care facilities on site.

Do you have any Birthday party packages?
Yes, there is a wide range of packages to choose from. Please see the childrens parties page for full details

Is there a train station nearby?
Yes, Tamworth Train Station is about a 10-15 minute walk or a 4-5 minute taxi journey.

Do you offer group discounts?
If you are booking for a large group of recreational skiers and/or snowboarders, for every 10 people who pay, the eleventh person will go free. For more group discounts please call 08448 000011.
