Do I need to bring armbands for my child to use in their swim lessons?
Children are not required to wear armbands in any lesson unless specified. All flotation aids and support are provided if needed.

Can I sit on the poolside to watch my child swim?
We do not permit parents/guardians on poolside whilst lessons are in progress, however we do have a spectators area which has a full view of the pool.

What should my child wear for swim lessons?
For girls a full swimming costume is preferred. For boys, shorts above the knee are preferred. Swimming caps are not required but can be worn if you wish. Long hair must be tied back.

Can my child bring their own goggles to wear?
Yes children can wear goggles on lessons.

What is the maximum number of children in each lesson?
Parent & Toddler and Aqua Tots classes have a maximum of 13 children. Duckling lessons have a maximum of 5 children.
Swim levels 1-4 have a maximum of 8 children, and levels 5–10 have a maximum of 10 children.

What happens if my child needs to move classes as the time, day or level are not suitable?
You will need to contact the Pool Manager, who will try to accommodate as best possible.

What should I do if my child is ill and cannot attend lessons?
You will need to contact the Pool Manager.

What happens if I miss the payment date for the next course?
Your child’s place will be released to the general public.

Does my child get badges and certificates? If so, do I have to pay for them?
Yes your child will be awarded badges & certificates as they progress through levels and distances. The teachers will award these when appropriate they will give blue badge cards which then need to be taken to reception, where you can purchase a badge and certificate for £3.25.

My child is already on a course of swimming lessons at the SnowDome. How do I make sure they have a place on the next course and when do I have to pay for them?
Children are automatically enrolled onto the next course if taking part in swim lessons. We will send out a letter stating when the next course starts and when the payment is due for that course.

My child has had lessons before and can swim a little, do they need to start at level 1?
Not necessarily, we offer free swim assessments for children who have had previous swimming experience prior to booking lessons to ensure they are placed in a class appropriate to their ability.

How much are the lockers in the swim changing room?
Lockers are 20p refundable

Can I take photos of my child whilst they are having their lessons?
We do not allow any photography or filming at any time in our pool.

Do I have to pay for parking when we attend swim lessons?
Car parking is available at a charge of £1.50. N.B. The first 30 minutes is FREE for dropping off or picking up.

Can I go swimming whilst my child has their lesson?
Yes the pool is available for casual swimmers you would need to purchase a ticket at reception.

Do you have baby changing facilities and family changing rooms?
Yes we provide baby changing tables also we have lots of benches within the changing rooms. Our family changing rooms are available you can get these through reception and will need to leave a £5 refundable deposit.

Are children permitted to swim before or after lessons with a parent/guardian?
Children are permitted to swim before and after lessons with a parent or guardian providing a casual swim ticket has been purchased at reception prior to pool entry at an additional cost of £2.75 for a child and £4 for an adult.

 

 

Children above the age of 7 must use their own sex changing room
