BASI Level 1 Instructor courses are available at the SnowDome. The BASI level 1 qualification is for those wanting to find employment in a non-mountain environment, i.e. at an indoor snow facility. All candidates must be 16 years and above with a good technical ability and an understanding of client care. Courses run for 5 days, Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm.
Fees includes all aspects of the course, including lift pass, training and lecture room hire, plus 35 hours complimentary lesson shadowing. We also offer employment opportunities to successful candidates, subject to an interview. Courses must be-pre booked online or by calling 03448 000011. BASI Alpine (Ski) Level 1
Level 1 is an entry level course for skiers with aspirations to join the BASI education system. The minimum standard expected for the course is confidence at turning on all types of slope and terrain. A sound knowledge of skiing itself is also useful.
Adaptive Instructor Level 1
The Adaptive Level 1 Instructor is valid for instructing in controlled environments in the UK. This means that you can instruct in indoor snow facilities in the UK. The course is centred on the learning progression which includes knowledge and awareness of disabilities, continual practical assessment (technical and teaching) and all safety requirements. Refreshers & Resits
Refreshers and resits are single day courses. All BASI qualified instructors must attend a refresher every 3 years. These sessions are also designed to offer the opportunity for Level 1 candidates to resit part of their exam if necessary.
