Well, you’ve come to the right place! Learning to ski is a very rewarding and exciting experience to be remembered. You only do it the once!
On average a beginner attends just 4 single group lessons in order to learn how to ski i.e. to reach the Recreational Standard. You can learn even quicker than this, and save money in the process, with the ‘Combi’ lessons or why not try the Learn To Ski In A Day Course.
Adult ski lessons are available for persons 17 years and over and Junior ski lessons for children aged 8-16 years, see below.
Kinder ski lessons for children aged 4-7 years are also available but these follow a different format, see Kinder Lessons
For safety reasons members of the public are not allowed to teach.

Level 1
The first lesson for complete beginners. Includes a safety brief, introduction to the ski equipment and learning effective warm up techniques. You will side-step up the slope and descend a short distance whilst practicing active balance exercises. In addition you will be shown how to return to your feet after a fall and learn the snowplough brake.
Level 2
Recap Level 1 and continue to develop the snowplough brake. The gliding snowplough will be introduced to control speed down the slope. Snowplough practice will then continue from further up the slope when the rope tow will be introduced.
Level 3
Recap Level 2 and consolidate the snowplough glide and brake. The instructor will focus on control of speed and direction until a competent level is achieved. Snowplough turns will then be introduced and further height will be gained gradually by use of the rope tow.
Level 4
Final lesson to recap Level 3 and continue to develop snowplough turns. Further control of speed and direction will take skiers to the top of the rope tow. When this level has been achieved the travellator (the main lift to the top of the slope) will be introduced and skiers will practice descending the full 170 metres in control.
All lessons must be pre-booked and pre-paid and remain non refundable and non-transferable. Depending upon personal ability a lesson may have to be repeated before progressing to the next level. On arrival, check-in at SnowDome reception, then head downstairs to Ski Hire to get changed, obtain all equipment and go to your designated meeting point to wait for your instructor. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your lesson, as late arrivals cannot always be accommodated.
