The Recreational Standard
To enhance SnowDome slope safety there is a minimum standard policy in operation, called the ‘Recreational Standard’. This standard is the ability to use all lifts, perform controlled linked turns, control speed and direction and stop confidently. If you are a competent skier or snowboarder and meet this standard you may use the slope unsupervised i.e. ‘recreationally’. If you have never skied or snowboarded before, or do not meet this standard, then ski or snowboard lessons must be taken in order to reach this level, see What Level Am I? for more information.

Recreational Skiing & Snowboarding
Once at the Recreational Standard there is a wide choice of sessions on offer at the SnowDome. You can now enjoy the freedom of using the slope unsupervised i.e. recreationally, to maximise the potential of any skills you have learnt in lessons or abroad. N.B. Regular skiing or boarding on snow will dramatically improve your confidence and ability. Join the SnowDome membership scheme and save £££‘s off the cost of year round skiing and snowboarding on snow.
Competent skiers and boarders may purchase a recreational slope pass, in one hour denominations, to use the snow slope. Second and third hour deals are also available and vary throughout the year, see below for details.

Recreational Bookings
If you wish to ski or snowboard recreationally you do not have to pre-book but it is advisable, especially during the winter season. Certain sessions and activities such as Ski Only Nights (Wed eve), ‘Ramp Nights’ (Tues & Sat eve from Dec-Mar, Tues only from April-Nov inclusive) or Tobogganing and Tubing sessions (at various times every day) may restrict the availability of recreational skiing or boarding on the main slope.

All activities are subject to availability and capacity. Please note that members or registered users who pre-book recreational slope time guarantee their time on the slope and avoid all queues on arrival.

2nd Recreational Hour
The 2nd hour must be taken the same day, consecutively, by the same person. Subject to the purchase of a 1 hour recreational pass at the normal rate. The free 2nd hour deal excludes Morning Club sessions and Tues & Sat Ramp Nights. Not valid in conjunction with any other offer. See reception for full details.

Recreational Timetable
This is the standard Recreational Timetable. This schedule will change from 5 July 2010 until 7 September 2010 inclusive, to the School Holiday Timetable, to allow for midweek, lunch time Tobogganing sessions.
Please be aware, End Of Year Treats will be in operation from Monday 5th July – Friday 23rd July. Therefore between 12noon and 2pm, Monday-Friday there will be midday tobogganing on the main slope. Recreational slope use will not be available during these times.

School Holiday Recreational Timetable
The School Holiday Recreational timetable will be active from and including 5 July until 7 September inclusive. Please note that during a School Holiday period there are extra midweek Tobogganing and Tubing sessions. After the School Holidays the normal Recreational Timetable (above) will come back into effect.
