What Level Am I?

Slope Policy

If you are new to the Ski and Snowboard world or have never visited the SnowDome before then please be aware of the following slope policy designed for both the safety of yourself and other slope users.

The Recreational Standard

To enhance SnowDome slope safety there is a minimum standard policy in operation, called the ‘Recreational Standard’. This standard is the ability to use all lifts, perform controlled linked turns, control speed and direction and stop confidently. If you are a competent skier or snowboarder and meet this standard, then you may use the slope unsupervised i.e. ‘recreationally’. If you have never skied before, or do not meet this standard, then lessons must be taken in order to reach this level.

Please note that for safety reasons members of the public are not allowed to teach.
I am a beginner and I want to learn how to ski or snowboard

Adult ski lessons are available for persons 17 years and over and Junior ski lessons for children aged 8-16 years, see Learning To Ski

Kinder ski lessons for children aged 4-7 years are also available, see Kinder Lessons

Adult snowboard lessons are available for persons 17 years and over and Junior snowboard lessons for children aged 10-16 years, see Learning To Snowboard

Competent skiers and snowboarders may purchase a recreational slope pass, in one hour denominations, to use the snow slope. Second and third hours deals are also available and vary throughout the year, see Recreational Skiing & Snowboarding

There’s also many discounted recreational sessions available offering excellent value for money. From midweek morning sessions with complimentary coffee and biscuits to evening sessions or even hitting the ramps and rails, there is a wide choice for competent skiers and snowboarders, see Discount Sessions

For those looking to progress their skills there are a large selection of improver sessions available catering for all levels of recreational skiers and snowboarders, see Coaching Sessions and Ski Development Courses. All coaching sessions are complete with informal coaching from dedicated session instructors. For example why not learn how to hit the park with Beginner Ramp Night or perfect those carving turns you have been working on with either the ski Master Class or snowboard Progression Session.
